Level 3 is available as an online course with exams sat in person at one of our Exam Centres.

WSET Level 1 Award in Wines
A short introductory course totalling 6 hours studytime plus a 45 minute exam. No previous wine knowledge required.
This course provides an introduction to how wine is produced, major grape varieties and well known wines of the world, wine food pairing, wine service & storage and social responsibility. Scheduled classroom courses are held in Sutton Coldfield. Tailored courses can also be created to suit your private groups and corporate training.

WSET Level 1 Certificate in Spirits
A short introductory course totalling 6 hours plus a 45 minute exam. No previous spirits knowledge required.
An introduction to the diverse range of spirits available across the globe. This course introduces the concepts of distillation together with a study of each major spirit category and it's production methods. The syllabus also covers cocktail making, storage and service of spirits and social responsibility of alcohol. Tailored courses can also be created to suit your private group or company needs.

WSET Level 2 Award in Wines
A comprehensive introduction to wines. 28 study hours plus a 60 minute exam. No previous wine knowledge required. PLEASE NOTE: It is NOT necessary to hold the Level 1 certificate to complete this course.
This course provides broad knowledge of the major wine regions of the world, how the grape varieties are cultivated and wines are made, together with other aspects of wine service, pairing with food and social responsibility. As well as still wines, the syllabus covers sparkling and fortified wines.

WSET Level 3 Award in Wines
An in-depth study of wines bullding on knowledge gained at Level 2. 84 study hours plus a 2.5 hour exam. PLEASE NOTE: The WSET Level 2 certificate is a pre-requisite for this course.
The Level 3 certificate is suitable for anyone wishing to advance their wine knowledge and analytical skills. Students will acquire a thorough understanding of the factors influencing the style, quality and price of wines from key wine producing regions of the world. In addition to still wines, vineyard and human factors influencing sparkling and fortified wines are a key part of the syllabus. This knowledge are examined by a 30 minute blind tasting of 2 wines and a 2 hour theory where factual recall and application of knowledge are expected.
