Places to Stay in the Languedoc-Roussillon
The Languedoc-Roussillon is a wonderful place to take a holiday. It is a big place and it’s hard to believe that it is so undiscovered by many people. Indeed many are not sure where it is and when I'm asked where in France do I live upon replying the Languedoc many look quizzically at me.
It’s in the south of France bordering the Mediterranean Sea to the east and the Pyrenees Mountains to the south. It’s brimming with history and beauty and there is a mass of wonderful places to visit including abbeys, cathedrals, Cathar castles, the world famous Canal du Midi, the medievil cite of Carcassonne and some beautiful villages.
This is one if the most exciting vineyard regions in France but not many people are aware of this. For so long the region produced quaffing table wine in large quantities and unfortunately it is finding it a slow process to shrug off this image.
A chain of historical events are to blame for the slow progress of the production of quality wine but now there are some excellent producers in the region and we can help you find them. Whether you join us for a long weekend or come on one of our day tours we will take you explore this stunning place to meet some of the best wine makers and taste their wines.
