We offer a great selection of Languedoc-Roussillon wines from the vineyards we visit during our tours of the region.

How to Order

The Wine List

Our range of wines are detailed below and categorised into the vineyard districts of the Languedoc-Roussillon. Choose which wines you would like to order or alternatively why not order one of 'Wendy's Selection' cases. You can choose from the 'Easy Drinking' or the 'Fine Dining' case and both are available in either 6 or 12 bottles. They also make a wonderful gift and include Wendy's tasting notes and food pairing suggestions.

Wines from the Minervois

johns_signClos Du Gravillas

John and Nicole Bojanowski are old friends of ours and if any of you have been on one of our Minervois vineyard tours you will quite possibly have visited this fabulous domaine. This organic vineyard epitomises the artisanale approach and from the 8 hectares containing 11 grape varieties John and Nicole produce some of the most elegant and beautifully made wines you will encounter.

L'Inattendu 2008 Minervois Blanc AOC. Only 2000 bottles are made a year many of which are sold in *** Michelin restaurants in Paris. It is made from Grenache both blanc and Gris and also contains some Maccabeo and aged in French oak for 12 months on its lees. It has whiffs of apple-skin, a nutty nuzzle of amontillado and an unexpected pop of caraway. A complex wine to drink with guinea fowl in sauce, mackerel or will even accompany strong cheeses. One of Wendy's Favourites. £18.45 per bottle

Lo Vièlh 2006 VDP 100% Carignan from old vines some of which were planted in 1911. Black cherries, liquorice, herbs and a little tobacco with good acidity – I wonderful accompaniment to lamb and duck. One of Wendy's Favourites. £18.45 per bottle

Sous les Cailloux, des Grillon 2008 VDP – this translates as 'under the stones, crickets' and if you have visited St Jean du Minervois you will know how it got its name. The limestone plateau is strewn with white stones, it looks like snow but crickets abound in the heat of the day. This elegant red is made from 7 grape varieties, Syrah (35%), Carignan, Cabernet Sauvignon, Terret, Mourvèdre, Grenache Noir and Counoise. It is mouth-watering, juicy and refreshing with a nose that has hints of ripe raspberry and blackberry fruit with a liquorice and mineral finish. £10.76 per bottle

Rendez-Vous du Soleil 2007 – old vine Carignan with Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah as the base plus Mourvèdre and Grenache. The yields are very low, the wine fermented in stainless steel with lots of skin contact producing a wine that has plenty of colour with round tannins and spicy blackberry fruit. Smooth and velvety yet brooding and rich. Excellent with grilled duck. £15.50 per bottle

Muscat de Saint-Jean-du-Minervois AOC - Douce Providence 2008 – translated means Sweet Providence due to the fact that John and Nicole were unexpectedly given the fruit by a neighbour to make their first Muscat de Saint-Jean-de-Minervois AC. This VDN (Vin doux Naturels) wine is delicate and beautifully fresh with a nose of honeysuckle and flavours of delicate honey and citrus. It's beautifully balanced and not too sweet. Lovely poured over strawberries or with goats cheese drizzled with honey the way it is eaten in the Languedoc or try it with blue cheese. 50cl bottles. £11.28 per bottle

DSC01009Château de Rieux

Emmanuelle de Soos the owner of Château de Rieux is an energetic, hardworking character who always sports a big happy smile. And so he should, his wines are really making a mark in the wine world and have received great praise from the likes of Wine Spectator and others.

Viognier VDP 2009 is no simple, floral Viognier but a rich and complex barrel fermented Viognier with superb balance and nervy acidity. Flavour of vanilla, peach and white flowers make this ideal as an aperitif or to accompany food. One of Wendy's Favourites. £9.17 per bottle

Roussenelle AOC 2009 is a traditional Minervois red fermented in tank with no oak aging making this a fruity easy drinking style wine and a wonderful accompaniment to pizza and pasta. £9.17 per bottle

Château de Rieux AOC 2008 is Emmanuelle's top Cuvée made mainly from Syrah with a little Grenache. The fermentation finishes in 500ltr oak barrels where the wine remains for 18 months. Full bodied with black fruit, pepper and spice with a lingering vanilla finish. Superb! £12.81 a bottle

Chateau Puy

Emmanuelle Puy is a young man with a great future. He is one of the 'New Generation' wine producers who has turned his back on tradition and instead of following previous generations who grew grapes as a crop and sent them to the local co-op he is making the wine himself.

Viognier VDP 2009 is a medium bodied white from very low yielding vines. It has lovely flavours of peach and apricot with white flowers and good acidity. Fabulous as an aperitif or with fish. £7.12 a bottle

Les Yssières 2008 AOC Minervois. Easy drinking red made from Grenache and Carignan with flavours of prunes and black fruits. £7.12 a bottle

Passeslis 2008 AOC Minervois. The wine is richly coloured with crimson and black reflections. It has aromas of ripe black fruit, toast, vanilla and spices. On the palate there are blackberries, blackcurrants and pepper with hints of vanilla and spice. Full bodied and supple and drinking beautifully. One of Wendy's Favourites. £8.15 a bottle

Cuvée 7 2007 AOC Minervois Rouge. This is Emmanuelle's top Cuvée and one that he does not make every year; it all depends on how great the vintage is. The 2007 is superb. The wine has an intense colour with black reflections. On the nose there is smoke, vanilla, spice and lashings of dark fruit. The flavour is that of intense black fruits, it's rich and full bodied with excellent balance and a long finish. It is age worthy however it is drinking beautifully now. One of Wendy's Favourites. £14.73 a bottle

Wines from the Corbières

The Corbières region is divided into 11 terroir and the one called Boutenac is the only one with its own AC and is deemed the best of the bunch. It is a region of contrasts. Wild, windswept garrigue, where cigales sing and buzzards circle lazily against a blue sky.

ollieuxChateaux Ollieux Romanis

During our tours to this vineyard we follow winding roads which pass vineyards perched on rocky hillsides soaking up the Mediterranean sunshine and producing strong, rugged wines that smell of herbs and taste of ripe fruit. Olleux Romanis has been a family owned vineyard for several generations and is situated in the heart of the Boutenac region, an area dedicated to the culture of the vine since Roman times.

Corbières Blanc Cuvée Classique 2009

This Corbières blanc is a mixture of Roussanne and Marsanne from low yields. Vinification is in tank with an upbringing in oak involving a period on the lees with regular batonnage to stir the lees and add complexity. This yields intriguing flavours of orange blossom and exotic fruits. One of Wendy's Favourites. £8.75 per bottle

Corbières Rouge Cuvée Classique 2009 is a Corbières AC made from a blend of Carignan, Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah from vines that have been planted on hard red clay soil. Luscious red and black flavours are counter pointed by the dryer garrigue notes of bay leaf and rosemary, tobacco leaf and pepper. £8.75 per bottle

Corbières Rouge Cuvée Prestige 2008 is a Corbières AC and a blend which includes Carignan from vines up to 100 years old plus Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah. It has concentrated flavours of black cherries, cocoa butter, liquorice and balsam. It is aged in wood for about 15 months and drinks very well when young and can age for 7 years and beyond. £11.00

Corbières Blanc Cuvée Prestige 2008 is a Corbières AC and a blend of Marsanne and Roussanne and is barrel fermented. Its rich, creamy, complex and delicious! £15.50

Corbières-Boutenac, Atal Sia 2007, this is a lush confection of Carignan (45%) Mourvèdre (25%) Grenache (25%) and a dollop of Syrah for good measure. No oak but this is still a deep and intense wine with black fruits, orange peel, spice, liquorice and a smooth, silky, almost sweet palate. One of Wendy's Favourites. £17.00 per bottle

Château Saint Jean de la Ginest

This Domaine is ran by one of the most energetic and courageous woman I have ever met. She took over running the winery after her husband died a few years ago and now produces wines with wonderful character and finesse.

Rosé AOC Corbières 2009 is made from Grenache and Cinsault and is everything you hope to find in a rosé. Vibrant fruit, strawberries and raspberries and a little sweet spice and pepper with lovely acidity and a dry finish. One of Wendy's Favourites. £6.71 per bottle.

Vieilles Vignes AOC Corbières 2008 is a full bodied rich wine with immense concentration. Made from 112 years old Carignan and 60 year old Grenache it has flavours of black and red cherries, raspberries, spices and a little pepper on the finish. £7.12 per bottle

Carte Noir AOC Corbières 2005 is a big wine that packs an elegant punch. Made from Mourvedree and Syrah it has dark fruit, blackberries, plums, spice and a hint of vanilla on the finish. One of Wendy's Favourites. £10.20 per bottle

'Crepescule' AOC 2005 Corbières-Boutenac shows its cru class from the first sip. It has finesse alongside the bold flavours you expect from a Corbières with black cherry, fennel, liquorice, spice and a refined vanilla finish. It is drinking beautifully now and will continue to do so for at least 5 years. £12.04 per bottle.

champagneWines from Limoux

The Limoux region claims to be the first area of France to produce sparkling wines that date back to 1531 which is at least a century before Dom Perignon! The vineyard we visit in this regfion is owned by Isabelle and... The third generation of their family to produce these delicious sparklers.

Domaine Martinolles

Blanquette de Limoux Carte Noir is made mainly from the Mauzac grape plus Chenin Blanc and a little Chardonnay .It is light and easy to drink with flavours of apples and pears. £9.79 per bottle

Cremant du Limoux Rosé is an elegant and fresh pale pink fizz which makes a wonderful aperitif. It is made from Chardonnay, Chenin and Pinot Noir using the same method as Champagne and has flavours of strawberry and raspberry with a touch of creaminess. £11.22 per bottle

Cremant du Limoux Blanc is a rich and complex wine with superb balance and depth of flavour. Its golden colour reflects the ripeness the grapes reached when picked and the 2 years aging on its lees before disgorgement. Produced from Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc and Maucaz it has flavours of citrus, orange oil, marmalade and brioche. One of Wendy's Favourites. £11.22 per bottle

Wines from Saint-Chinian

The wines of Saint-Chinian have been highly regarded since the late 1800's so much so that patients were prescribed them in the hospitals of Paris! We visit two excellent producers in this region, both of whom are fairly new to the business of wine production.

DSC01043Domaine Borde

Phillip Borde is a Frenchman who came to this area from Montpellier where he had been plying his trade as a plumber until 10 years ago. He came here to follow his dream to make a 'Grand Vin' and I can report that he has most definitely achieved that ambition.

Les Narys St Chinian AOC 2008 is an easy drinking red with soft tannins and flavours of blackcurrants, raspberries and cherries. What I call a 'pizza movie' wine, just sit back and enjoy! £9.17 per bottle

Les Perieres VDP 2007 is 100% Grenache and is packed with ripe juicy fruit giving flavours of raspberries and chocolate. Hurry and buy this stunning wine as he will not be making it again – he sold the vines (someone else recognised how special they are!) One of Wendy's Favourites. £12.81 per bottle

La Plage VDP 2007 is Phillips top Cuvée and is a bottle full of brooding complexity with ripe black fruit, sharply etched flavours with a delicate bouquet, minerality and good acidity. The tannins are fine and ripe making this mainly Syrah wine drink very well now but will also cellar for at least 5 years. £14.30 per bottle

Château Combebelle

As we turn off the main road and head up the very steep and winding road through the garrigue the smell of herbs wafts through the open windows and greets us. The view as we reach the top is stunning and on a clear day we can see the Med sparkling in the distance. Katherine has always known that she would make wine, even as a child of 6 she was planning this moment even though she grew up in England and had no connection to wine making. She is now in her 4th vintage and has learned a lot along the way and I believe she is someone to watch.

Cuvee Château de Combebelle AOC St Chinian is made from Syrah and Grenache and is an easy drinking fruity wine with not too much spice or pepper making it a wine for those whose taste is for subtlety and elegance. £8.95 per bottle.

Wines from the RoussillonSunday_Pic_1

The Roussillon was once part of Catalonia and its old border is where the famous 'Cathar Castles' of Queribus and Peyreperteuse perch high of the rocks looking down on the villages of Cucugnan and Maury. Our 'Wine Tasting & Cathar Castles' tour has proved to be one of the most popular and not least because of one of the vineyards we visit there called Vella Fronterra.

Domaine Vella Fronterra

The domaine is owned by Corin and Jayne Fairchild, a Welshman and an English woman who are forging their way in the wine world having taken redundancy from their UK jobs in the UK 4 years ago. Living the dream some might say but the reality is hard work and sometimes heartache such as when the hail storm in June 2010 ruined their Grenache crop. But they live to fight another vintage!

Le Fetard (Merrymaker) 2008 VDP 100% Grenache. If you read your wine books they tell you that Grenache produced a pale wine due to the thin skins of the grape. Try telling Corin that! This deep scarlet wine tastes of raspberries and violets with a crunchy chocolate finish. Easy drinking and very satisfying and no oak by the way. Fab! One of Wendy's Favourites £8.15 per bottle

100% Syrah 2007 VDP - Looking for something to drink with beef and if you like a wine that packs a punch then you'll love this. Black fruit such as cherry and plums and blackberries leap from the glass and are wrapped in a vanilla and pepper with a spicy finish. Wonderful value £10.20 per bottle

Domaine Montagne

Maury AOC. The grapes for this sweet red wine are grown on the black schist which gives the 100% Grenache in this wine its chocolaty flavour accompanied by rich raspberry and cranberry flavours. This wine is similar to Port but less fiery and as you'd expect it's wonderful with chocolate! One of Wendy's Favourites. £13.27 per bottle
