WSET Intermediate Certificate (Warwick)

A 3 day course running over 3 consecutive Saturdays.
The Intermediate Course is an introductory level qualification intended for those who would like to know more about the absorbing business of wines and spirits, whether they are people who require a basic level of product knowledge to underpin job skills and competencies, or just love to share in the glories of wine as part of their lives as entertainers of their friends and family. For those involved in the hospitality industry; whether in customer service, sales functions, in the retail or wholesale supply industries, these skills are essential.
Upon successful completion of the course you will be able to interpret the somewhat mystical labels of fine wines and spirits, give basic guidance on appropriate selection and service, as well as knowing the principals of wine tasting and evaluation. In short; serve the customer better or be a better host.
The course is taught over a period of three consecutive Saturday however it is essential that students enrol at least 3 weeks prior to the course in order to commence the recommend 14 hours home study. This is facilitated by access to our web based distance learning course and the official WSET study guides. The exam will take place the Saturday following the final day's training and consists of a closed book examination of one hour's duration, consisting of 50 multiple-choice questions.

Grape growing and wine making
Chardonnay & Pinot Noir
Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc
Shiraz/Syrah, Grenache and Riesling
Italy, Spain & Portugal
Sparkling Wines, Sweet Wines
Fortified wines and spirits and liqueurs
The cost of this course is fully inclusive of the official WSET study pack, access to our Distance Learning course, wines, examination fee and certification.
This course is taking place at Underwoods Wine Warehouse,
Montague Road, Warwick.
If booking within 60 days of the course you must pay the full cost when you book. We must receive the full cost of your course (less any deposits already paid) no later than 60 days before the start date. If you make a late booking within 60 days of the course the full amount must be paid immediately. If for any reason the full cost of your course is not received by us within 60 days of the course start date, we will be entitled to treat your booking as cancelled by you and your deposit will be kept. Should you wish to cancel your booking we will refund your money less the cost of the course book and any administration cost we have incurred providing we receive written notice at least 30 days before the start date of the course. If we cancel the course a full refund will be made. We reserve the right to run the courses at either our Leicester or Warwick wines school.
