A friend of mine told me about a restaurant he visited in the heart of Birmingham recently.
"The restaurant has a lovely décor and we were greeted very warmly and taken to our table. The menu was varied and interesting and we all had difficulty choosing what we wanted to eat as all the dishes sounded wonderful. Eventually we chose and the waiter came to take our order. He made some interesting comments about each dish we chose and could answer all our questions and was obviously well versed in the menu. He then asked had we looked at the wine list and did I want to order. I said we would like a bottle of the Chablis. He lent over to look at the list I was holding and I pointed to the one I had asked for. ‘Ah, number 12, thank you sir’. What a shame that he had been unable to comment on my choice and so obviously could not have guided me in any way should I have needed any advice".

We offer a one-day ‘Your Wine List’ training course covering the following subjects:
- A quick overview of wine making.
- Grape varieties.
- Wine regions of the world.
- Your wine list.
- Wine and food.
- Serving wine.

The course is customised and will be tailored to your wine list. We will research each of the wines on your wine list prior to the course and customise the event for you. We also ask for a copy of your menu so that we can tutor the delegates in which wines would ideally accompany each dish.
The cost for this course is £550.00, which includes training for up to 8 people and the research prior to the course. We also ask that you supply wines from your wine list to aide the tasting session.
Gastro - Wine Evening

Have you considered providing your customers with a Gastro - Wine evening?
Many restaurant owners have asked us to partner them in a Gastro-Wine evening using various themes. For instance a Burgundy evening which included a glass of Kir Royal (made with Cremant d’Bourgogne and Crème Cassis) upon arrival followed by a typical Burgundian dinner with wines from the region.
To bring it alive for the diners The Wine Wise Company will provide a wine expert who will present the wines to each table and provide some interesting and enjoyable facts about the region.
