Welcome to The Wine Wise Company’s distance learning WSET Level 2 Intermediate Course and this Getting Started guide.
Key Steps to Learning
There are 5 stages to the Distance Learning area of this website. In each section you will find all the information you need to complete this course. It is essential that you study each section of the course carefully as they contain all the information you need to become proficient at Intermediate level and to go on to pass the exam. Tutorials
All sections include tutorials, which are essential reading for your course. Many of the tutorials contain links to maps and other useful materials.

All sections include Key Facts, which sum up the information you should focus on.
Recommended Wines
Tasting wine is an essential part of this course. We have drawn up a list of wines that we recommend you taste throughout your study. You will also find a list of wines on page 17 of the WSET Intermediate course specification (PDF, 1.35 MB).
Tutored Tasting Videos
Some sections include a video that you can play as often as you like and follow for each of the grape varieties covered in the syllabus.
Exercises
Most of the sections have exercises designed to help you to learn and to turn information into knowledge. We recommend that you do the exercises once you have familiarised yourself with the content of that section.
Quizzes
Each section will include a quiz, which is marked online for you. This will help you pin-point your knowledge gaps and help you to focus your study
Website Links
Most sections include a link to a relevant generic website. Although you will be able to pass the exam without studying the information on these websites, we recommend that you do look at the websites, as it will help to reinforce what you have learnt in each section of the course.
Tutor Support
Within each section you are able to contact your online tutor by posting a query or question. You can also book a time for a telephone conversation with your on-line tutor if you wish.
WSET Course Materials
All the information you need to complete the WSET Intermediate Course and pass the exam is included on this website. If you wish to purchase the WSET Study Pack to support your studies or for future reference it is available to purchase at a price of £30 (including postage). Please contact us to request a pack.
Website Access
You will have access to this website for 12 months from the date you first registered on the website. The WSET recommend you study for a minimum of 28 hours.
Assessment
In the final assessment section you will be able to access The Wine Wise Mock Exams, which are marked online and can be attempted as often as you like. They are an excellent way to gauge if you are ready to take the exam. The mock exams are written in the same format as the official exams and are 50 multiple answer questions. In order to pass the exam you must achieve 56% correct answers. This section also includes a link to your online tutor to book your exam however we will regularly mail you with available examination dates.
