Christmas Wine Gift
I have personally selected two superb wines from the Languedoc area of France, which is the wine region I love the most. The red is Le Clos de l’Azerolle from Raymond Julien whose vineyard in the Minervois is featured during the weekend vineyard visits I run.
This wine is made from pure Carignan from fifty-year-old vines, which is sinewy, yet supple with brambly chewy fruit - gorgeous! The white is a Chardonnay from the well-known Toque d’Arques winery in Limoux. This is a superb wine often likened to white Burgundy and is indeed referred to as their ‘petit Mersault’.
