Our Birmingham based tastings and courses are held at various venues in the city centre. The tastings are fun, relaxed and often include tapas or canapes and provide you with a fun way to learn more about wine.

Christmas Wine and Dine Event: Friday 12th December 2008
The Restaurant - Aston Business School
This year's Christmas Wine & Dine event will feature the stunning food of the Languedoc region of Southern France. This is an area renowned for its hearty food reared or grown in the herb flavoured wild garrigue of thisMediterranean region of southern France.
The wines to accompany the meal have been selected from the vineyards we visit on our wine tours and range from light delicate whites to accompany fish to robust reds with flavours of herbs, pepper and ripe red and black fruit.
You will be welcomed with a glass of Blanquette du Limoux before the meal of:
Entrée
Poelée de Lotte et Gambas a la julienne de legumes et citron vert
White fish and large prawns cooked with thinly sliced vegetables and a broth of white wine, coriander, saffron and a squeeze of lime
Plate
Daube du Sangier, Boulanger pomme de terre, legume aux saison
Slow cooked Wild boar stewed in red wine accompanied with sliced potatoes cooked in garlic and freshly made stock and fresh vegetables in season
Deserts
Citron et Meil crème Brulee et tarte aux chocolate avec frambois coulis
Lemon and honey crème Brulee and chocolate tart with raspberry coulis
Fromage
Assiette aux Languedocien fromage
A selection of cheese from the Languedoc
The price is £70 per person and £60 per person when booking a table of 10.

Introduction to Burgundy Wines: Thursday 8th January 2009
Commencing at 6.30pm
This 2-hour course will take you on a journey around this historic wine region that is the home of some of the most superlative wines in the world. Nowhere else in the world does Pinot Noir taste so good and Chardonnay so expressive. We will taste 6 wines, which will demonstrate the wealth of flavours from Chablis to Beaujolais.

Introduction to Rhône Wines: Thursday February 12th 2009
Commencing at 6.30 p.m.
During this 2-hour course will taste wines from both the northern and southern Rhône including Cote Rotie and Condrieu and Gigondas and Chateauneuf-du-Pape. In all we will taste 6 wines and learn how they are grown learn more about this stunning region.

The Languedoc-Roussillon: Thursday March 12th 2009
Commencing at 6.30 p.m.
The Languedoc-Roussillon is the most up and coming wine region in France. It is a large and diverse area that stretches from the Pyrenees to the Rhone River and from the foothills of the Cevennes to the Mediterranean Sea. During this 2 hour course we will take a look at the most important appellations including Minervois and Corbières and also look at some of the lesser known areas such as Malpère and Cabardès.

Spain: Thursday April 9th 2009
Commencing at 6.30 p.m.
This 2 hour course will introduce you to some of the wonderful wines that this country has to offer. From wonderful dry whites from Galicia to stunning big and bold red wines from Priorat. The 6 wines we taste will whet your appetite for more of the excellent wines produced in Spain.

South American Wines: Thursday May 14th 2009
Commencing at 6.30 p.m.
From gorgeous Malbec from Argentina to unusual Syrah from Chile this 2 hour course will take you on a fast pace tour of this wonderful wine producing part of the world. In all we will taste 6 wines.
