If you are looking for Christmas presents or would like to treat yourself we have a range of courses running in 2009

Birmingham - These courses are taking place at The Crescent Theatre, Brindley Place.

February 12th - Rhône Wines £40 The Rhône is a beautiful part of France and produces some of DSC00210the finest wines from this country. The region is divided into 2 halves, northern and southern and each area produces very different wines. In the northern Rhône you will find some of the longest lived wines available for instance Hermitage from the famous hill of the same name. In Vistorian times these were some of the most famous and sought after. From the southern Rhône you will be familiar with Chateauneuf-du-Pape but this area also produces other fine wines such as Gigondas and Vacquaras and of course Tavel which is famed for being the finest rose in France.

March 12th - Languedoc-Roussillon Wines £30 The Languedoc-Roussillon is the most up and coming wine region in France. It is a large and diverse area that stretches from the Pyrenees to the Rhone River and from the foothills of the Cevennes to the Mediterranean Sea. During this 2 hour course we will take a look at the most important appellations including Minervois and Corbières and also look at some of the lesser known areas such as Malpère and Cabardès.BaroloCastello_1 

April 9th - Wines of Spain £35 This 2 hour course will introduce you to some of the wonderful wines that Spain has to offer. We will explore the wines of northern Spain including the superb aromatic dry whites from Galicia and the classic reds of Rioja and Ribero del Duero. We will also explore the wines from Cataluña which include stunning Garnacha based reds from Priorat DOC, some of the most sought after reds in Spain.

May 14th - South American Wines £35 Sarah Long has a great deal of experience and knowledge about the wines from South America. As the daughter of an Argentine and having lived in South America, she is looking forward to introducing you to some of her best loved wines. From the gorgeous Malbec and other interesting grape varieties from Argentina to unusual Syrah and Pinot Noir from Chile, this 2 hour course will take you on a fast pace tour of these wonderfully diverse wine producing regions of the world. We will look at some marvellous and surprising creations from both sides of the Andes and in all we will taste 8 wines.

Leicester - These courses are taking place at Potters Marston near Narborough

8 week Wine Appreciation Course - Monday Evenings Commencing January 26th £225 This 8 week course is aimed at anyone who has a very keen interest in wine tasting and would like to begin to learn more about it. During the course we will cover all the major wine producing regions of the world and also include sparkling, sweet and fortified wines.

March 21st - Burgundy Wines - £55 This 3-hour course will take you on a journey around this historicwoman-drinking-wine wine region that is the home of some of the most superlative wines in the world. Nowhere else in the world does Pinot Noir taste so good and Chardonnay so expressive. We will taste 6 wines, which will demonstrate the wealth of flavours from Chablis to Beaujolais.

Warwick - This course is taking place at Underwood Wine Merchants, Montague Road.

6 week Wine Appreciation Course - Thursday Evenings Commencing January 15th - £145 This 6 week course is a fun and sociable introduction to wine tasting and the major wine producing regions of the world. Each evening we will spend 2 hours exploring a different country or region and taste 6 interesting wines.
