Eastern & Western European Wines

This interesting course will introduce you to the wines of Germany, Austria, England and some of the lesser-known wine regions of Europe such as Hungary and Bulgaria. The tasting will include wines such as Tokay, the wine loved by the Tsars of Russia and the sparkling English wine Nyetimber, which is competing so well against some of Frances's outstanding Champagnes.

In a 3-hour session our WSET Recommended Tutor will share her knowledge of the countries. You will taste at least one wine from each country and learn some interesting facts along the way.

You will learn about:

Germany– deciphering the label
Austria– the finest wines in the world
Bulgaria– are these wines still good value?
Hungary– Tokay and Bulls Blood
England– can our country really produce outstanding wine?

Information on how to approach wine tasting and valuable tips on food and wine pairing will be given throughout the session.

The course takes place at our Training Centre in Potters Marston, Leicestershire. The cost of this course is £65 per person and includes tastings of 8 wines from the areas covered during the session.
