WSET Certificate Courses
If you are interested in gaining the WSET Intermediate certificate we can offer you 3 options:
WSET Intermediate Certificate 8-week course
- Taking place at our Potters Marsden education centre in Leicestershire.
- Monday evenings 7.00 p.m. for 8 weeks commencing September 17th.
- Cost: £325 per person
The price includes the official WSET study guide, 6 wine samples each session, free access to our Distance Learning course as extra support and the cost of the examination. Enrolment is available now and until August 29th.
WSET Intermediate Certificate 3 day Intensive course
- Taking place at our Potters Marsden education centre in Leicestershire.
- Over 3 consecutive Saturdays - September 15th, 22nd and 29th with the examination taking place the following Saturday morning October 6th.
- Cost: £325 per person
The price includes the official WSET study guide, 6 wine samples each session, free access to our Distance Learning course as extra support and the cost of the examination. Enrolment is available now and until August 29th.
WSET Intermediate Certificate Distance Learning Course
This course is aimed at people who are unable to attend weekly seminars and tastings and therefore enrolment is not restricted to any particular date. Students will receive the WSET study pack, which consists of the course textbook, study guide, systematic approach to tasting card and qualification specification. You will also have access to the distance learning area of our Web site which contains tutored wine tasting videos, tutorials, exercises, quizzes and mock exams and access to your on-line tutor who will support you throughout your study.
Cost £145 per person.
Wine Appreciation Tastings
We are running some exciting 2-hour wine tastings throughout the autumn in Birmingham.
Introduction to the Wines of Southern France
Tuesday August 28th 2007
This 2-hour course will provide you with an overview of the Southern Rhône, Provence and The Languedoc. The 8 wines we taste will introduce you to some of the hidden gems of these regions all carefully selected from the vineyards that I have personally visited.
Cost: £20 per person
August 28th Tuesday Evening commencing 6.30 pm.
Pinot Noir From Around the World
Tuesday 6th November 2007
This 2-hour tasting will introduce you to some of the world’s most interesting Pinot Noir production from countries including France (Burgundy and Languedoc), New Zealand, Australia and North and South America. The tasting will provide you with the opportunity to compare a Burgundy Grand cru with one of the best from Central Otago, New Zealand. In all we will taste 8 wines.

Sweet Wines From Around the World

Choosing the wines for this tasting will be difficult as there are so many fabulous wines to choose from. Naturally I will include Sauternes and Tokaji and the course would not be complete without a Trockenbeerenauslese and a Quart de Chaume. In all we will taste 6 sumptuous wines.

Chardonnay From Around the World

Chardonnay is one of the most versatile grapes and is a wine makers dream, as wines made from this grape will express the production method and wine makers’ skill. This 2-hour tasting will follow the same programme as the Pinot Noir tasting and will introduce you to some of the world’s most interesting Chardonnay wines from countries including France, Australia, New Zealand and North America. The tasting will provide you with the opportunity to compare a Burgundy 1er Cru with one of the best from California and we will also have the rare opportunity to taste a sweet noble rot wine made from this grape.

Christmas Wine & Dine Evening

The Wine Wise Company invites you to look forward to Christmas celebrations whilst choosing wines to match your Christmas lunch or dinner. We will be holding a food and wine matching dinner at a central location in Birmingham. The dinner will be a 4-course meal with each course accompanied by 3 different wines.
